Live At Dr. Jeckyll's

by The Kubes

/
1.
Look in the mirror What do you see All of life staring back at me Are you pleased With what you've done In your time underneath the sun In this house Where time has died Nowhere to fear, nowhere to cry On your own No one around On the monolith Upside down Try not to lean On what you know The sun will set And the day will go A white room Now time is black Once you go babe you can't go back Take it easy Lose your mind I got bad habits That kill all the time Now we're here In this place I see no sounds and I hear no face All I see Is the pouring rain In the lake of fire In a world of pain

I did a little something that will change my life I got a funny feeling that something ain't right My eyes are fuzzy and my mind is blurred My house is upside down and the world is absurd The man from the T.V.'s on a killing spree And the government they got their eyes on me The time is ticking and there's nowhere else to run I'd look for you but I'm resting on the sun Breathe, breathe in the air Don't be afraid to care Leave, don't leave me Walk around and choose your own ground Long you live and high you fly Smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry All you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be Run, rabbit, run Dig that hole, forget the sun And when at last the work is done Don't sit down it's time to dig another one For long you'll live, and high you'll fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave Woke up near here, two hands 'round my back I prayed to God my rope don't run out of slack I shouldn't have stayed here, shouldn't have stuck around Maybe I'll try my luck in another town Going nowhere without any end in sight The clear blue sky shines that burning red light My mind won't work if my spine don't jerk We gotta get out of here, meet me on Mars Better than staying here living behind bars
4.
I'm gonna take their money I'm gonna take their life I'm goin' out west, to California's way They won't catch us babe, if we leave today I've got a saddle full of gold And a six-shooter on my hip They'll never take me alive And when I shoot I won't miss Hear the buzzards cry Sing on to the desert sky Bodies all around me now Hear the savages and their howl They all surround me Pistols drawn in hand If it weren't for you woman You know I would be a dead man
5.
It's automatic going from First to eighth gear in rocket powered Flights on hunks of space junk I need to make a trip down here someday We'll go all the way to the end of the solar system Space Truckin' don't mean a thing if you got a mission Now over on Planet Texas you can see the oil rigs from Space when they're doing their thing I need to make a trip down here someday We'll go all the way, all the way past the goal line You may ask me how it is And I'll say I am feeling real fine Alien spaceport's where you'll find the good stuff You can get anything from Yavin to Bespin I need to make a trip down here someday We'll go all the way, all the way back to where we been You may ask me how I've been And I'll just throw you a line
6.
Wilting clear blue sky, I watch how they rise A land so obscene, not even the trees remain green To walk through the way, is a passage and a trip The mind blows through, four-gauge shotgun grip How the sun sees more than we ever could want it to Going, to a place I ain't been I'm outside looking in I got no time to lend I'm going insane The grass is right as rain The mountains are made of paint My eyes are made of glass I'm going to Hermit's Pass so Come on a safari with me The Ninth Circle is the innermost center of the mind's eye It is said when The Ninth Circle is opened, He who looks in it will be rewarded with total consciousness You, you got me And I got you Or so you see Through the past It's been me But now it's you Who's to seek The Ninth Circle to unite the trio of Mind, Body, and Soul
7.
That back water done rolled, tumbled down the line Lord that back water rolled and tumbled down the line That brown-skinned woman is the only trouble of mine Maybe I'll go down to Galveston, get some white sand in my shoes Or I'll go down to Brownsville and get some dirt on my shoes Or I'll ride that train to Memphis, get rid of these L.A. blues Yeah I've been ridin' that highway, oh all night long I been cruisin' that highway, most all night long And I'm just listenin' to Lemon, wondering where it all went wrong I went to the station and I looked on the board I went to the station babe, and I looked on the board It says it's good times here, but it's better on down the road
8.
Well there's a riot goin' on Down at the Garden today Well the Knicks play tomorrow But I'm playing there today Yeah the boys were fighting The girls were crying There was a riot Down at the Garden today Well we played a hot show But now we gotta go away Well I'm sorry ladies But we just cannot stay Yeah there's too much fighting There's too much crying There was a riot Down at the Garden today Well we're on the road Travelling all night and day We've been everywhere All across the USA L.A. to Jackson There's too much action I'd rather be back Down at the Garden today Well I'm back on the bus Back with the rest of the band We got off for a stop And I was approached by a government man He said "Stop right there son" "This here tour's done" You'll never go back Down to the Garden again
